Every year millions of people in the European Union1 become victims of crime. A Union of equality must ensure access to justice for all victims of crime2 no matter where in the EU or in what circumstances the crime took place. Victims of crime must have access to support and protection at all times. The lockdown of society during the COVID-19 pandemic saw a rise in domestic violence3, child sexual abuse, cybercrime,4 and racist and xenophobic hate crime5. It is therefore crucial to strengthen the framework for support and protection of victims and ensure it is resilient in crisis situations. aVÍTIMAS DE VIOLÊNCIA aDIREITOS DA VÍTIMA aAPOIO À VÍTIMA aPROTECÇÃO ÀS VÍTIMAS aDIRETIVAS COMUNITÁRIAS aUNIÃO EUROPEIA a343.24 aEUROPEAN COMMISSION aPTgRPC j343.24EC
